36 Hour Program In-Class
Quick Facts:
- You can start this class at 14 1/2.
- IF you're under 18, you must hold your permit for one calendar year before testing for your license.
- IF you're under 18, you must log a total of 50 hours (40 must be day, and 10 must be night) before testing for a license.
- IF you are under 15 1/2 when you get your permit, you must complete the (6) hours of driving instruction and wait one year OR wait until you are 16 1/2 to test for your license.
This program consists of (30) hours in the classroom, usually spread over three or four days. The class is split into 8 separate sessions, each independent of each other. This allows students to easily makeup sessions (e.g. students can complete all 8 sessions across multiple classes). At the end of the classroom instruction, students will take a final exam from A+ Driving School before advancing to the permit test.
If the student is within 30 days of their birthday or over 15 upon completion of the class, they will also take the Colorado State permit exam at our office. The paperwork we issue can then be taken down to the DMV once the student is 15 years old and be exchanged for a permit. Otherwise, you will have to make an appointment to come and test when the student is closer to their birthday.
Once the student has their permit, they will need to practice driving with mom and dad for 12 - 15 hours before scheduling the first lesson. Lessons should be spread throughout the entire year for maximum benefit to the student.
